Renewals of Vows

“We cannot thank Bethel enough for making our wedding renewal fun, personal, and incredibly special. She really took the time to get to know us, despite us living far away in England! The “homework” was great fun to do and reminded us of a lot of great memories. Bethel is warm, down to earth, and simply a very lovely person. We would recommend her in a heartbeat!”

There are many reasons my couples choose to renew their vows. Sometimes it’s to mark a special anniversary. Sometimes it’s to give themselves the personal ceremony that they didn’t have at their wedding. And sometimes it’s in gratitude for having gotten through a tough period of time together. No matter why, I would love to help you two to celebrate in a way that is worthy of what you have together.

It's up to you: you can invite family and friends and make it a larger event, or you can even keep it super intimate with just the two of you (or maybe with your children too). No matter what way you choose, together we will create new memories as you and your spouse truly celebrate where you’ve been, where you are, and what is still ahead!

Or, maybe you are looking to help your parents celebrate their 40th or 50th anniversary in a special way, really celebrating the family they've created along the way, and this is a meaningful way to do so. I have helped a few families create a surprise celebration for their parents/grandparents, and it has been so fun for me to watch them appreciate marking that momentous occasion in a memorable and touching way.

I am committed to creating a personalized ceremony that incorporates your beliefs and values, celebrates who you are as a couple, and includes components and traditions that represent you best. And, all along the way, I will show you many ideas of ceremony components and content and rituals that you may never have known existed. Plus, if you have children (or grandchildren), we can definitely make them a part of this celebration of the life you have built together, if you would like.

Let us work together to create a renewal ceremony that is personal, meaningful, and perfectly you!

Working Together - What does that mean?

  • An initial meeting (virtually or in-person): This is where we talk about your wants and don’t wants, the ceremony creation process and what working with me feels like, and then determine if we’re the right fit for each other.

  • If we are the right fit: I email you a link to an electronic contract, you sign it and pay the $300 retainer fee, and I am locked in for your date and time! All done online with ease.

  • I will lead you through every step: The ceremony creation process and all the other needed details, plus some of my renewals couples want my help in choosing the right location and even a photographer too. I have your back!

  • Everything can be done electronically and remotely: I want it to be an easy process no matter where you live and how busy your full life already is.

  • You will have two assignments from me: Because it would be tough for me to create a ceremony that is a perfectly you, without your input. Helps me make sure every part of the ceremony reflects you and allows me to share your story.

  • Assistance with writing or choosing your vows: Vows can be scary, wanting to get them right, so I make sure I give you plenty of guidance, suggestions, and even samples.

  • Fine-tuning the draft ceremony to your perfection: We work together to make sure it all fits you as a couple and represents how you see marriage and commitment.

  • Your ceremony delivered by me with the emotion that it deserves: Even more than professional, punctual, and caring, which I definitely am, I love, and am truly honored, to be celebrating you! And because I choose my couples and families carefully, wanting to adore and connect with what you two have, it can all be delivered in an authentic and genuine and joy-filled way.

  • Immediate important details follow-up: I will also mail you a copy of your ceremony as a keepsake, plus a keepsake certificate that I create for your witnesses (or just me!) to sign too.

  • And P.S. I will keep in touch, emailing you your vows on the anniversary of this date, assuming you would enjoy getting them!

“Bethel led us through our vow renewal ceremony, and she was amazing! She worked with us long distance (we live in New Mexico) and helped us craft a personalized ceremony that perfectly captured our feelings for each other after 38 years of marriage and the connection we want to have going into our future together. She then officiated our ceremony on the beach in La Jolla at sunset... It was so beautiful and made even more so by Bethel’s care for us and her shared joy in our recommitment to each other. It was truly everything we’d hoped for and more.”
