Bethel has been a proud member since 2004, served on the Board of Directors from 2005 through 2010, and is excited to have rejoined the Board for the 2011-12 year. She is currently an active member of the Grants and Governance Committees and the Development Advisory Team, has held leadership positions in both the Grants Committee and the Membership Committee in previous years, and has served as a member on the Membership, Education, and Finance Committees, in addition to many ad hoc committees, as needed.

Bethel has been involved with the Komen organization since 2003, when she first participated in the 3 Day Walk.  Since then, she has walked it six times (all in San Diego), and crewed it twice (Arizona and Seattle), raising over $63,000 for the cause in the process.  She also participates in the San Diego Race for the Cure each year, and was one of the top fundraisers in both 2009 and 2010, adding another approximately $15,000 to her fundraising total. She is now proud to serve on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Affiliate, as of 2008.
