wedding ceremonies

For me, the wedding ceremony is all about celebrating your relationship! I tell my couples that there is a reason that they are getting married in front of people, instead of just taking care of the legalities at the County Clerk's office. You want to celebrate your relationship in front of the people who matter most to you. And that's exactly what we will do together!

Whether you are spiritual, inter-faith, non-religious, somewhat religious, or somewhere in between, I am committed to creating a personalized wedding that incorporates your beliefs and values, celebrates who you are as a couple, and includes components and traditions that represent you best.

The process begins with an in-person meeting (or via Skype or FaceTime if you are not based in San Diego) to see if we are a good fit for each other. We will discuss what is important to you, talk about some other ideas you may not have heard about, and with the input you provide, I will design a ceremony that truly reflects who you are, and your wishes.

I promise to present a ceremony, professionally and with caring, that will bring you and your guests tears of joy and plenty of smiles.

elopement weddings

Drama-Free Deluxe

This is what a friend of mine called it when I said I was doing a pre-planned elopement wedding for a couple coming in to San Diego purely for this. No family or friend drama, no details to distract you, just a celebration of your relationship!

There can be many reasons that have led you to decide that you want to "just elope!" No matter the reason, the end result is a wedding that is the two of you, me, and maybe a photographer to capture the moment (and to be our witness). And this wedding allows the two of you to focus on each other, and on your relationship, instead of on so many other things that become part of a larger wedding.

I absolutely LOVE being a part of elopement weddings, as couples who come to me for them, rather than just going to the County Clerk's office to do it, are still looking for something personal, something created specifically for their relationship. And that is what we do together! We go through the same easy process as my couples with larger weddings, including the "homework" assignment about your relationship. It allows me to get to know you better, and it is an exercise that my couples love doing, as it walks them back through the history of the relationship, and helps them to see where they are going.

Whether you are spiritual, inter-faith, non-religious/secular, somewhat religious, or somewhere in between, I am committed to creating a personalized wedding that incorporates your beliefs and values.

The process begins with an in-person meeting (or via Skype or phone if you are not based in San Diego) to see if we are a good fit for each other. If we agree to work together, we will discuss what is important to you, talk about some other ideas you may not have heard about, and with the input you provide, I will design a ceremony that truly reflects who you are, and your wishes.

I promise to present a ceremony, professionally and with caring - no different just because it is only the three of us there - that will bring you tears of joy and plenty of smiles.

Let's celebrate your relationship together!

And, yes, if you have just a few guests, up to about 5-6 guests, this might still be the appropriate option for you. It is still your ceremony, without all of the hassles around a larger wedding. When it is larger than around 5-6 guests, I find that those there still appreciate the inclusion of your stories about who you are together, and therefore it becomes a more "normal" wedding ceremony rather than an elopement.

commitment ceremonies

You have decided that you want to take the next step and commit to a life as partners. And you want to celebrate your relationship in front of the people who matter most to you. And that's exactly what we will do together!

Whether you are spiritual, inter-faith, non-religious/secular, a touch religious, or somewhere in between, I am committed to creating a personalized ceremony that incorporates your beliefs and values, celebrates who you are as a couple, and includes components and traditions that represent you best.

I want to be part of your special day. As a celebrant unaffiliated with any specific religion or organization, I will design, create, and perform a unique commitment ceremony just for you. Your ceremony can be simple, traditional, contemporary, or as elaborate and eclectic as you desire. Regardless of the style, it will be perfect for you. I believe your ceremony should be a personal reflection of your current relationship and future years together.

I promise to present a ceremony, professionally and with caring, that will bring you and your guests tears of joy and plenty of smiles.

As I certainly hope that same-sex marriage is once again legal in California before long, if we have your commitment ceremony before that day comes, when it does, and you want to have the additional status and recognition that comes from a marriage license, I will happily work with you to make that happen as well - at no additional cost. Since the ceremony we create together will contain all of the required components of a legal wedding ceremony, other than signing a license, nothing will make me happier than being able to sign licenses on that day for my same-sex couples, whenever that day comes back to California...

renewal of vows

Maybe your initial wedding wasn't exactly "the perfect day" you would have planned, or you just desire to renew the special feelings you have for one another, especially on a special anniversary. A renewal of vows ceremony is the perfect option! Invite family and friends, and create a new special day in which you and your spouse renew the vows you made to each other, however many years ago.

In preparation, we will work together to create a personal ceremony that reflects the love you felt for each other as bride and groom, and how that love has grown and matured through your years together. If you have children, we can definitely make them a part of this celebration of the life you have built together, if you would like.

Whether you are spiritual, inter-faith, non-religious/secular, religious, or somewhere in between, I am committed to creating a personalized ceremony that incorporates your beliefs and values, celebrates who you are as a couple, and includes components and traditions that represent you best.
